BBMS CERTIFICATE IN HOSPITALITY MANAGEMENT


Course Aims & Objectives
This program aimed at training students in the fundamental skills of hospitality operation & management. Students will acquire the necessary skills to tackle basic operation need of the hospitality industry.




Structure and Duration
The course comprises 6 modules of study conducted on a full-time (Day) basis.




Day-Time Programme
Classes meet for 5 times a week amounting up to 15 contact hours per week. The programme comprises of lectures and tutorials will be conducted over a period of 6 months.




Admission Criteria
Interested applicants must possess the following entrance requirement:
  • Reasonable understanding of the English Language (Local Students only)
International Applicants
  • Applicants must have a minimum of 10 years of general education or its equivalent
  • Reasonable understanding of the English Language




Course Curriculum

Food Hygiene & Nutrition
This module provides you with the knowledge for food preparation including hygiene practices and HACCP, the body’s need for a variety of nutrients and the effects of preparation on the nutritional content of food.




Housekeeping Operations
This module provides you with the necessary skills and knowledge required to provide a range of general housekeeping service to guests and to prepare rooms for guest in a commercial accommodation establishment.




Front Office Operations
This module introduces you with the skills and knowledge required to receive and process reservations for hospitality products. It also articulates the services knowledge required to provide concierge, arrival and departure services to guest in commercial accommodation establishments.




Food and Beverage Knowledge
This module provides you with the general food and beverage knowledge required to provide guest satisfaction dining in the commercial hospitality establishments.




Food and Beverage Operations
This module introduces you to the various F&B operations and equipments knowledge required for hospitality products or services rendered to guests in commercial hospitality establishments.




Practical Training
On completion of the module, you should be able to practise personal grooming, attend/conduct pre & post roll call, set up dining tables, change table setting, receive and serve guests in several styles of service.
